We Need Your Help
It is anticipated there will never be enough funding to satisfy all of Wyoming's wildlife needs.

At the present time, funding for wildlife conservation in Wyoming is almost totally dependent on hunters and anglers; however, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department is responsible for managing all of Wyoming's 604 species of game and nongame wildlife. This 75 year-old funding model based on hunting and fishing license fees will not be adequate in the 21st century, especially if we hope to conserve Wyoming's many nongame species.

One Solution
Alternative funding must be found if we are to preserve Wyoming's wildife for future generations. On April 20, 2000, an independent, charitable organization - the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of Wyoming - was created. The purpose of the Wildlife Heritage Foundation is to provide financial support, through philanthropy, to critical conservation efforts in this state.

Your Contribution
Your contribution will help fund critical wildlife conservation projects in Wyoming.

Wyoming is a special place, in a special position in our country. Native wildlife species have disappeared from much of their natural range in almost every other state, but in Wyoming, deer still outnumber people. Pronghorn antelope nearly do. Most of the world's sage grouse live in Wyoming, and four native subspecies of cutthroat - more than any other state - still thrive in Wyoming's streams and rivers.

But this abundance of wildlife in Wyoming carries a heavy responsibility of stewardship. Unlike many other places in the country, it's not too late to conserve Wyoming's rich wildlife heritage - if we act now.
